About Our Civic Life

A c3/c4 project to support the multi-dimensional work of protecting our democratic culture, processes, and institutions in the short-term and designing and building a modern democracy in America over the long-term.

We design, deploy, support, and coordinate programs across each of the nine dimensions of our framework based on what good work is already being done and what work is missing.

Projects & Partners

The Common Bond: a c3 project of civic rituals that create and enable productive listening and bridging community experiences for people all over the country. Common Bond hosts community conversations (design-thingking guided listneing and discussions at municipal/neighborhood levels around the country that create data and insight into the bridging opporuntieis in local communities aroudn the country), citizen assemblies (structured civic conversations that connect listening and empathy to ideas and solutions), and civic fersitvals (public oppountiies to elelvate local engagement and particiaption in joyous and playful contexts) that together create bonds between community members oriented toward doing things civic together and getting more community as a core outcome of the expriences.
